Salary Cap Auction
ORBit Fantasy currently offers Rotisserie Baseball leagues using weekly scoring and lineup changes only.
For the time being we'd like to do just one segment of Fantasy Sports and do it with excellence.
Special consideration will be given to groups of managers wishing to migrate an entire league to ORBit Fantasy as a Custom League using alternate scoring methods. However, managers not playing in 22-active-roster-slot leagues are not eligible for entry into the PerfectCycle promotion.
Standard ORBit Roto Leagues use a 27-man Roster:
Standard leagues do not use an IR slot or a slot designated for Minors
Extended Draft (also known as slow draft) Leagues are held in the same format as the standard Snake Draft but instead of just 90 seconds to make your selection you get anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to make your pick. Times will vary depending how many days remain before the start of the MLB season.
And don't worry about your pick coming up after you've gone to bed for the night because CBS Fantasy Sports shuts off the clock between Midnight and 6:00am. Picks can still be made but if you're on the clock, the timer won't start counting down until after 6:00am EST.
Mixed League Auction - All MLB Players
Single League Auction AL Only / NL Only
Single Season Leagues - no trades, free agent pickups using FAAB (Free Agent Auction Bidding) once per week
Keeper Leagues - limited trading using SAT (Silent Auction Trading) plus free agent pickups using FAAB once per week
Fun Leagues - no prizes for winning your league, just bragging rights
Stakes Leagues - top 4 finishers split the prize pool (all stakes and prizes deposited and payable via LeagueSafe)
The Auction Draft room at CBS Fantasy Sports allows for $0 opening bids, however ORBit Fantasy Leagues requires a minimum starting bid of $1 on all players.
In ORBit Fantasy Keeper Leagues there is an inflation value of $3 added to all players not drafted as well as to the current salary of all players locked into your roster at the Keeper Deadline, fifteen days before the Auction Draft for years 2-5 of the league.
By signing up for a Keeper League you'll already save 20% per year off the rate for Single Season Leagues but here's a way you can save even more:
For Single Season Leagues, there's two ways to save:
Free Agent Auction Bidding or FAAB is a tool used to give all managers an equal opportunity to acquire players off the waiver wire during the course of the regular season.
Both Single Season and Keeper Leagues at ORBit Fantasy use a season long FAAB budget of $1000 from which you can use to make bids of free agents to replace one or more of the players currently on your roster. As you spend money to acquire replacement players throughout the year your budget will decrease and you'll have less buying power than another manager who may have spent less or no money to that point.
It's designed to help keep things fair for everyone and so you don't see the same few managers snap up all the best waiver claims every week.
In Keeper Leagues, FAAB dollars for the current MLB season may be included along with players as part of a trade package.
ORBit Fantasy is proud to announce Silent Auction Trading (SAT) for all Keeper Leagues.
SAT is a form of limited trading where managers are encouraged to come up with a deal and submit it to the League Commissioner who will present the Trade-In-Principle (TIP) to the league as a whole. Every other league manager is then asked to submit a private Counter Offer to the League Commissioner to acquire in return those assets on either One Side or the Other Side of the announced Trade-In-Principle.
The League Commissioner then presents all offers in confidence to each manager involved in the TIP who will then have the option to:
A. Accept the original offer
B. Accept any counter offer
C. Reject all offers with cause
During the Counter Offer submission phase (up to 7 days) the Commissioner may deem one or more of the players involved in the TIP to have sustained a significant injury or suspension and allow the managers to withdraw the TIP. Barring such injury or suspension, one or both managers involved in the TIP will swap players at the end of the SAT.
All bargaining should take place before the TIP is presented. The player(s) you include in the TIP should be considered as dealt since you will get back either those players you asked for in the TIP or the player(s) you accepted as another manager's counter offer. If only one manager involved in the TIP accepts a counter offer, the other manager will then keep his players.
Of course, both managers in the TIP can choose to ignore all counter offers and all managers have the option to decline making a counter offer.
The reasoning behind SAT is to discourage collusion and encourage balanced trades where other managers who think a deal is unfair have to opportunity to Put Up or Shut Up.
Managers who like to make it more interesting by competing for cash prizes are welcomed at ORBit Fantasy.
At no additional charge the League Commissioner will set up an account at LeagueSafe to take deposits and hold all prize money.
100% of the Stakes deposited to LeagueSafe will be paid out as money prizes at the conclusion of the current MLB season.

ORBit Fantasy can match you with other managers who wish to play for similar stakes. When you sign up for a Stakes League you should consider a range of stakes you're comfortable with. A greater range will make for a greater chance at filling a league quickly. The leagues which filling the soonest get a wider choice of dates and times to book for their draft event.
First come, first served.
On Demand leagues at ORBit Fantasy means the leagues which fill sooner get the better choice of dates and times to hold their draft event.
Leading up to Spring Training ORBit members will get updates showing which leagues are starting up, nearly full or reached capacity and what date was selected for their draft.
When there are seven or more players who are wanting the same League Options a new league will be created and the League Commissioner will canvas members to work toward setting a date and time for the draft event which suits everyone. As the league reaches capacity, every effort will be made to find a more suitable spot for any manager who is unable to draft on a date the majority of the league prefers.
You may choose to Auto-draft but ORBit Fantasy wants you in a league that drafts when you can attend.
If there are enough managers to fill a league, ORBit will create a league with Custom settings.
Custom League settings may include:
Larger or smaller rosters
More than 12 managers
Different payouts in Stakes Leagues
Two catcher leagues
More or fewer scoring catagories. (ie 4x4, 6x6, etc)
Additional fees will apply if you want a league with Daily roster
changes, H2H scoring or unlimited trading - unless you provide a
Co-Commisioner who will have the responsibility to make decisions on
scoring and trades.
If your current league is still accessible or if you're able to provide 100% accurate roster data, ORBit can transfer and host it for you. Discounts may apply if you bring a full league of 12+ teams.
To make your managers eligible for the PerfectCycle Jackpot your league must use weekly lineup changes and have no more than 13 active hitters and 9 active pitchers per week.
Please see the section on Custom Leagues if you're interested in migrating an existing league which doesn't use ORBit Fantasy standard scoring and rosters.
ORBit Fantasy was created by and for Rotisserie Baseball managers who want to take advantage of Industry Leading site software (CBS Fantasy Sports) at a reasonable cost while competing within an environment of fairness, equity and without fear of punishment from a heavy-handed or elitist Commissioner.
To that end, every effort will be made to make managers feel welcome in our leagues.
ORBit Fantasy is committed to making our Best Effort to place all members in a league to their choosing.
While trying to limit ourselves to just Rotisserie scoring, there are still dozens of different flavors of leagues available to join and from time to time there may not be quite enough interest in one particular area to fill out a 12 manager draft event.
To this end we will do our best to market, canvas and adjust focus in order to find you a spot where you'll feel comfortable and meet your fantasy baseball needs. Should we be unable to place you in a suitable league by April 14, 2013 we will refund your membership fee shortly thereafter.
All fees paid to ORBit Fantasy are used directly to establish and pay for leagues hosted on CBS Fantasy Sports as well as to fund the PerfectCycle Jackpot promotion. Stakes deposited to LeagueSafe are dispersed at the conclusion of the MLB Regular Season and are not subject to refundability.
ORBit Fantasy fees submitted by PayPal may be refunded to the email address of the original sender providing the refund request is received within 24 hours of the purchase. No other refunds will be available until the League Creation Deadline of April 14, 2013 and then only in such case as the Commissioner was not able to find space for the manager in an available league which then went on to a completed draft event. Fees paid by methods other than PayPal fall under the same conditions but are likely to take weeks or months to verify and return in the case of a legitimate refund.
Once a league has formed and its draft event date has been set (date subject to agreement of at least 9/12 of the league members) a manager may request transfer to another league provided that league has a reasonable expectation of completing its own draft event. Otherwise, the manager not able to participate during the live draft event will be advised to pre-rank his players in anticipation of using Auto-Draft. No refunds are given to managers with a team in a full league that is ready to draft and no refunds are given to managers who decide to abandon a team in a Keeper League following the first draft event in the first year.
Provided a replacement managers is found for their team, a manager may move his membership to another Keeper League or successive Single Season Leagues after the first year of their 5-year membership.
Managers who tend to alienate themselves from other members in terms of excessive abuse or harrassment will be moved to a special league where Trash Talk and/or Flame Mail is tolerated and expected. In this situation, no refunds will be given for any reason and entry into the PerfectCycle Jackpot promotion will apply only if all other conditions of that promotion are met.
While we do use LeagueSafe as our primary payment processor, ORBitFantasy is able to accept various methods of payment.
